Glassy carbon electrode or vitreous carbon is referred to as a non-graphitizing carbon that combines the glassy and ceramic properties with those of graphite. Glassy Carbon Electrode is widely used in electrochemistry, for high-temperature crucibles, and as a component of some prosthetic devices.
